Woman says man poled door, punched her

CRESTVIEW – A man became upset with the mother of his daughter when she wouldn’t let him take the child, so he punched her, lawmen say.

The incident took place at an Edney Avenue residence, according to a Crestview Police Department arrest report. The two are said to have gotten into an argument over their daughter. The woman walked the man outside, then went back inside and locked the door, the report indicated. The man apparently tried to get back inside by kicking the door and hitting with a pole he found outside.

The woman said the man left the area for about three hours, then returned and got into another argument with her. She refused to let him take their daughter because of his temper, according to the report. It was then he punched her in the mouth, she said.

The man was charged with trespassing and battery. His plea date was not listed on the arrest report.
