CRESTVIEW – A woman was arrested after she fought with the staff at a local nightspot, then screamed and struggled with a police officer who tried to detain her.
A Crestview Police officer was summoned to Don’s Ice House to deal with a woman who staff members say argued and fought with them. The officer arrived just as the woman was driving off in her car, he wrote in the arrest report. He ordered her to stop but she ignored him and continued out of the parking lot, so he activated his lights and siren, and gave chase.
The woman stopped about 300 yards north of Industrial Boulevard and Stillwell Boulevard, the officer wrote in the report. The woman got out of the car and the officer took her by the wrist to escort her to his cruiser. He said she tried to pull away, and when he tried to cuff her she screamed, twisted and raised her body to get away from him. Once inside the cruiser, she apparently tried to kick out the back window, the officer said.
The report didn’t say what the woman was angry about.
She was charged with resisting arrest without violence and has a Feb. 4 plea date.
