FORT WALTON BEACH – A 29-year-old Fort Walton Beach man was arrested after he was found with a gun at a local nightspot.
A Fort Walton Beach Police officer went to The Block on Eglin Parkway to deal with a physical disturbance involving multiple people. While the officer was there, a woman approached him and pointed out a man who she said had a “handgun under his shirt,” the officer wrote in the arrest report.
The officer approached the man, identified as Richard Cartier Williams, and detained him out of concern he was armed. The officer found a black Hi-Point 9mm semi-automatic pistol tucked into his front pants waistband.
Williams didn’t have a permit and was charged with carrying a concealed firearm. His plea date is Jan. 21.
