FREEPORT - A 22-year-old man from Bonaire, Ga., who was arrested late last month after he rammed a stolen vehicle into a sheriff’s deputy’s patrol car faces additional charges, according to the Walton County Sheriff's Office.

Steven Ryan Ritchie faces new charges of armed burglary, grand theft of a firearm and grand theft stemming from the burglary of a home in Santa Rosa Beach on Aug. 17, the Sheriff’s Office reported.

He also is charged on a fugitive warrant from the Cherokee County, Ga., Sheriff's Office for vehicle theft.

Ritchie initially was charged Aug. 27 with aggravated battery on a law enforcement officer, leaving a scene of an accident with injuries, resisting arrest with violence and grand theft auto after he drove a stolen 1999 Jeep Wrangler into a deputy’s patrol car at a gas station on State Road 20 in Freeport, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
