FORT WALTON BEACH – A woman who was a passenger in a car stopped for illegal window tint found herself in hot water after a Fort Walton Beach Police officer found pipes, “Spice” and a substance the woman identified as “Roxy.”
The incident occurred in late July at the intersection of a Memorial Parkway and Coral Drive, according to the arrest report. An officer stopped the truck because it appeared to have window tint on the front windshield. The driver said she didn’t realize it was illegal and had never been stopped before because of it.
The officer gave her a written warning. As he prepare to leave, he asked if he could search the vehicle. The woman consented.
During the search, the officer found a red purse belonging to a passenger, a 24-year-old Fort Walton Beach woman. Inside he found a small plastic bag that contained a blue pill that appeared to have been cut, four smoking pipes, a small container that had Spice inside, and a piece of tin foil with black burn marks on the side. The woman identified the blue substance as Roxy, which is slang for oxycodone. The pipes tested positive for cocaine residue.
The woman was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and has an Aug. 13 court date.
