FORT WALTON BEACH – A woman was charged with entering another woman’s house and stealing money, according to a report.
In late July a woman went to her sister’s house on Willard Road to wait for her to come home so she could babysit her kids, Fort Walton Beach Police say. As she waited, she noticed a white pickup arrive. A woman identified as 34-year-old Melanee Michelle Martin of Fort Walton Beach got out, knocked on the door, then went inside, an officer wrote in an arrest report.
The woman knew nobody was home, so she went into the house and saw Martin in her sister’s bedroom taking money from a money jar. It was later determined she took about $100 in rolled coins and loose bills.
The woman questioned Martin about taking the money. Martin said the woman’s sister owed her money; she then left and the sister called police.
Martin was charged with burglary to an unoccupied residence. Her court date was not listed on the arrest report.
