NICEVILLE – A man was charged with shoplifting after he tried to leave a store with a set of headphones stuffed into his pocket.
The incident occurred June 16, according to a Niceville Police Department arrest report. A loss prevention officer saw the 31-year-old Niceville man put the headphones in his shopping cart, then go into the toy department, remove the headphones from the packaging and put them in his shorts pocket.
He then went to pharmacy and bought some items, and left the store. He was asked to come back inside and police officers were called.
He submitted a letter of apology to the officer who wrote the arrest report.
His court date is July 9.
