NICEVILLE – A man says somebody backed up a truck to his residence and made off with his jug of coins and two safes containing his coin collection and birth certificate, lawmen report.
On June 22 Niceville Police went to a Reeves Street trailer to speak with the resident, who wanted to report the theft. He told them when he got home, he noticed his front door had been tampered with. Despite the many valuable items in his trailer, the only things missing were two safes and jug of silver coins. The safe contained collectible coins and his personal papers, like his birth certificate.
The man said he doesn’t have friends who visit him at the trailer, but the day before a relative had asked him for money so she could bail her boyfriend out of jail.
A witness told lawmen tire tracks left in the man’s yard matched those of the boyfriend’s pickup truck.
