FORT WALTON BEACH - A man was sentenced Tuesday to 10 years in prison for felony battery with great bodily harm, according to the state attorney's office.
Okaloosa County Circuit Judge John T. Brown sentenced Christopher D. Williams as a prison releasee reoffender — which carries a minimum 5-year sentence — and a habitual offender, which doubles the amount of time Williams would receive.
Williams approached a girl outside a Shalimar home and was asked to leave by the girl’s mother and the landlord, according to a news release from the state attorney’s office.
Williams later punched the landlord in the face, knocking him to the ground and breaking his ankle.
