NAVARRE - A woman was injured Tuesday morning when her car was hit by a van turning onto the Navarre Beach Bridge, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
Rhenda A. Newton, 40, of Pensacola, was driving a 2007 passenger van west on U.S. Highway 98 about 10:05 a.m. when she began to turn onto the bridge, the FHP reported.
She turned in front of a 1981 two-door Pontiac driven by Melissa A. Sizemore, 44, of Navarre, according to the FHP. Sizemore could not stop and hit the van.
Sizemore suffered minor injuries and was taken to Fort Walton Beach Medical Center, the FHP reported.
Newton and 10 other people were in the van, but no injuries were reported.
The FHP charged Newton with violation of the right of way.
