CRESTVIEW – A woman who called Crestview Police about the theft of her wallet ended up being arrested on drug charges.
On May 9 an officer went to a Bowers Avenue residence to check out a report of a theft. There, he was greeted by 22-year-old Sara Christina Black, who invited the officer inside to discuss her missing wallet. She gave the officer the name of somebody who might have taken it.
While the officer was inside he spotted a red straw on the couch. The straw had a white powder inside. A field test confirmed the powder was cocaine.
Once the theft investigation was finished, the officer asked if there were drugs in the house. Black said yes and removed a picture frame from a closet that had three lines of a white powdery substance on the glass. This too tested positive for cocaine.
Black said the same person who might have taken her wallet left the cocaine there. She said she didn’t want to get him in trouble so she hid the drugs and paraphernalia.
Officers searched Black’s residence and found a scale, a metal smoking device, a black container with an “unknown residue” and 14 packages of spice.
The suspect in the theft was still on the premises and said Black offered him cocaine and spice, but he declined. He said she was using the spice via a metal pipe.
Black was charged with possession of cocaine and narcotic equipment possession. Her court date is June 25.
