'I did do it and if I have to go then I have to go'

CRESTVIEW - A man was charged with battery after he slapped his wife during an argument, Crestview Police say.

The incident occurred Jan. 12 at a Washington Street residence. The 34-year-old man and his wife began arguing when they disagreed about what clothes their daughter should wear. Both parties began yelling profanities at each other.

The argument continued until the husband couldn't take it anymore, according to the arrest report. He admitted due to his wife's profanities, he became so angry he slapped her in the face. He said, "I did do it and if I have to go then I have to go."

The woman bore no visible signs of injuries but was taken to the hospital for examination. Both parites received a Domestic Violence Packet.

The man was charged with battery-domestic violence at the misdemeanor level. His court date is Jan. 29.
