CRESTVIEW - A man said to be "extremely intoxicated" was arrested after he grabbed his daughter by the throat and wrestled her to the ground, lawmen say.
The incident occurred Jan. 14, according to the Crestview Police Department arrest report.
The woman told officers said she had asked her father to leave her residence when an argument broke out. she said her father grabbed her by the throat and took her to the ground, and that he was "extremely intoxicated," according to the report.
An officer spoke to the father, and noted his speech was slurred and he was unsteady on his feet. The man demanded his "first of the month" card (the report didn't explain what this is) and refused to leave until he got his card.
When the officer asked about his physical contact with his daughter, the man said he did it because he loves her.
A witness corroborated the woman's account.
The man was charged with domestic violence and will see a judge on Feb. 12.
