Man arrested for 'Jason mask' robberies

NICEVILLE — A 19-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with two armed robberies in December.

Keith JoJo Jackson Jr. has been charged with robbery with a firearm, robbery with a weapon, grand theft and petit theft, according to his arrest reports from the Niceville Police Department.

Jackson is accused of donning a “Jason mask” and robbing the Quality Inn on Dec. 4 and the Shell Station on Partin Drive on Dec. 29.

The clerk at the Quality Inn told officers the robber entered the front door with a handgun. He jumped over the counter and demanded money before taking about $600 in a laundry bag from the hotel, police reported.

The clerk was told to lie on the floor and not move. She was told that if she called law enforcement, “I will come back and kill you,” according to one of the reports.

In the Shell Station robbery, the clerk told police a masked man came in with a knife and stole about $200, cigarettes and lottery tickets.

Both robberies were documented by security cameras at the businesses.

In an interview, Jackson told officials where to find the mask and his weapons used in the robberies.

He was arrested Tuesday afternoon and taken to the Okaloosa County Jail.
