Relationship spat leads to stick-beating, punching, lawmen say

MARY ESTHER – A boyfriend and girlfriend who tangled over the state of their relationship experienced another form of togetherness – being arrested for domestic violence.

An Okaloosa County Sheriff’s deputy said the two, who have lived together a year, got into an argument about their relationship. Things escalated when the woman picked up a stick used to secure a sliding glass door and whacked the man on the head, according to the arrest report. The man retaliated by punching the woman in the face and on the head several times.

Both were charged with misdemeanor battery. The man’s plea date is Jan. 21. The woman’s wasn’t listed on the report.
