NICEVILLE — A 45-year-old woman has been arrested for firing a gun in her home while intoxicated, according to police.
The woman’s husband called 911 about 2:20 p.m. Friday to say his wife, Sheryl Lee Hayne, accidentally shot a gun in their home on Coral Drive, Niceville police reported.
When officers arrived, the man told them he and Hayne had been drinking. He added that Hayne was under a lot of stress and wanted her husband to leave, according to police.
The man did not want to leave and went into a bedroom. Hayne then shot five rounds through the wall of the bedroom. Her husband was not injured.
Hayne was charged with shooting into a dwelling and a weapons offense for firing a gun while intoxicated, police reported.
She is scheduled to appear in court Feb. 4.
