FORT WALTON BEACH – A woman who was allegedly using drugs in a department store parking lot was arrested on two related charges, according to an arrest report.

Okaloosa County Sheriff’s deputies received an anonymous tip that a woman and another person were using drugs in an older model Oldsmobile in the parking lot at Kohl’s on Beal Parkway. They found the car and spotted 25-year-old Charley Nicole Bautista trying to hide something behind the driver’s seat, a deputy wrote in the report.

“However, the item, a spoon with a white powdery substance, was in plain view behind the driver’s seat. Also in plain view was a black digital scale,” the deputy wrote. Bautista and her companion were detained.

Next to the spoon deputies found a small makeup purse that contained syringes and a pill box containing two pills. Bautista reportedly said, “Those are Xanax and Adderol.” She added another substance dissolved in the spoon was Dilauded. She had no prescriptions for any of the drugs.

The report didn’t say if her companion was arrested.

Bautista was charged with possession of a controlled substance without a prescription and drug equipment possession. She will plead her case on Jan. 24.
