FORT WALTON BEACH – A man who was cursing his father refused a deputy’s order to put his hands behind his back and was arrested.
The incident occurred at an Anderson Drive residence, according to the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office. A deputy went to the residence to investigate a report of a disturbance.
There, the deputy found a 20-year-old man yelling and cursing his father. The deputy told the man to calm down and explain what had happened, but the man refused and continued to yell and curse at his father. “He clenched his fist and flexed his muscles as if he was going to punch someone,” the deputy wrote in the report.
The deputy tried to put the man’s hands behind his back but the man pulled away. The deputy tried again but the man pulled away again. It wasn’t until the deputy put his arm around the man’s neck and forced him to the ground was the man able to be handcuffed.
The report didn’t say what the man was angry about.
He was charged with obstruction without violence and has a Dec. 23 plea date.
