CRESTVIEW – A man was charged with hit and run after he allegedly rear-ended another car, then refused to stop when lawmen gave pursuit.
The incident began on North Ferdon Boulevard when a man who said he was driving 35 mph was struck from behind by another vehicle. The man pulled into a parking lot but the other car continued heading north.
An Okaloosa County Sheriff’s deputy spotted the vehicle and tried to stop it, but the driver refused. The deputy called off the pursuit.
Later, the driver called Crestview Police and told them where he was.
An officer confirmed it was his car involved in the accident.
His plea date is Nov. 26.
