FREEPORT — Two locals are without a home after a fire gutted their camper trailer Monday night.
Capt. Tom Palmer with Freeport Fire Department said officials were called to North Street around 7:30 p.m. for the fire. Emergency responders were able to put the flames out four minutes after arriving.
State Fire Marshal's Office is investigating the cause. Palmer said the home, a 30-foot camper trailer, was completely destroyed. The two residents were not home at the time.
Palmer estimated $20,000 in damages.
