Motorcyclist seriously injured in Niceville wreck

NICEVILLE — A 19-year-old Niceville man was seriously injured Tuesday evening when he collided with another vehicle.

Niceville resident 21-year-old Christina Thompson was driving west on the parking lot exit of 4951 E. Highway 20 preparing to turn left onto White Point Road around 5:35 p.m., according to the Florida Highway Patrol press release.

Jonathan Hudson was traveling north on White Point Road on his 2006 Suzuki motorcycle behind 19-year-old Niceville resident Chandler Vause, who was also driving a 2006 Suzuki motorcycle.

Thompson told officials she did not see the two motorcyclists and drove into the northbound portion of White Point Road into the path of the two 19-year-olds.

Vause took evasive action and swerved out of the way of the vehicle. Vause tried to warn Thompson about the second motorcyclist but Hudson hit the left front of Thompson’s 2004 Chrysler Sebring.

The wreck caused $1,000 to Thompson’s vehicle and $8,000 to each of the motorcycles, the release said.
Vause suffered minor injuries. Hudson was taken to Twin Cities Hospital in serious condition.

Thompson was cited with failure to yield right of way at stop sign intersection.
