FORT WALTON BEACH – A homeless man was arrested for stealing a bicycle wheel from a local antiques shop, lawmen say.
The theft occurred at 3:15 a.m. July 31 at De’ France Indoor Flea Market and Antiques on Eglin Parkway, according to a Fort Walton Beach Police Department arrest report.
Video footage shows 56-year-old Gale Lee Reigles, no address listed, next to the bicycle. The footage shows him removing the wheel and leaving the area on his own bicycle, the wheel balanced on the handlebars.
Officers were able to identify Reigles from the footage and tracked him down. He refused to provide a written statement but said, “I (deleted) up.”
He was charged with felony level burglary. His plea date is Sept. 10.
