FORT WALTON BEACH – A man is accused of getting drunk, going “crazy” and banging a woman’s head against the ground, deputies say.
The man, 40-year-old Jared Michael Johnson off Fort Walton Beach, was previously convicted of battery in 2002.
In this incident, which took place Aug. 4 according to the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office, Johnson pushed the woman to the ground, straddled her and placed both hands around her neck. He then began banging her head against the ground multiple times before being restrained by another person.
Witnesses told deputies the woman didn’t say anything to provoke the attack, that Johnson was extremely drunk and “just went crazy.”
He was charged with felony battery. His plea date is Sept. 10.
