FORT WALTON BEACH — A 13-year-old boy was arrested early Thursday after attempting to break into a gas station in an attempt to steal alcohol.
The boy and another teenager attempted to use a metal bar to break the window of the Chevron gas station on Mary Esther Cutoff, ac-cording to a Fort Walton Beach Police report.
When police arrived they found the boy running away from the attempted point of entry. An officer shouted, “Police, stop I will tase you,” but the boy continued running.
The officer found the boy hiding behind a Greater Sylvania Heights sign about 100 feet from the store. The other teenager involved has not been caught.
The 13-year-old was charged with burglary to an occupied structure and resisting an officer without violence.
