BAKER — A 53-year-old motorcyclist was killed Monday evening in a single-vehicle wreck.
Robin E. Lucas of Wing, Ala., was driving eastbound on Kennedy Bridge Road approaching the left curve of the bridge around 7:20 p.m., according to the Florida Highway Patrol press release.
Lucas failed to negotiate the curve, causing the right side of the 2006 Honda motorcycle Lucas was driving to hit the bridge.
The motorcycle overturned and came to rest in the westbound lane of Kennedy Bridge Road causing around $1,000 in damages.
Lucas, who was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
