Two drivers cited after hitting cars

FORT WALTON BEACH - Two drivers hit several parked vehicles and other objects in separate incidents Friday afternoon, according to police.

An elderly man hit four vehicles in the parking lot of the Okaloosa County tax collector’s office at Uptown Station on Eglin Parkway about 11:30 a.m.

There were no injuries. The man was to be cited for careless driving, Fort Walton Beach police reported.

Another man hit a bus stop sign and a parked vehicle at the Publix shopping center downtown at 12:25 p.m., according to police.

The man drove off and later hit a mailbox, another parked vehicle and glanced off a utility pole before stopping on Holmes Boulevard.

He was cited for careless driving and leaving the scene of an accident.

He was taken to Fort Walton Beach Medical Center to be checked for a possible medical issue.
