NICEVILLE - Lightning sparked an attic fire late Friday afternoon after it struck a home on Kildare Circle, according to Niceville Fire Department.
The lightning hit a cable and traveled through the attic, Fire Chief Tommy Mayville said.
The residents were watching television but no one was injured, Mayville said.
The house sustained about $8,000 in damage, he said.
Firefighters from North Bay Fire and East Niceville assisted at the scene.
