NICEVILLE – A woman was arrested after she grabbed her girlfriend and slammed her against a door, Niceville Police say.
On June 9 officers went to a Powell Drive residence to check out a disturbance. There, they found two women arguing. As they continued to argue in front of the officers, the women somehow informed them that they were girlfriends and both lived at the residence. Officers asked that one of them leave so they could defuse the situation, and one woman walked around the corner of the house.
As officers prepared to leave they saw the woman knock on a neighbor’s door. Her girlfriend, who had gone back into the house, came out and started yelling to the other woman that she couldn’t go over there. The other woman walked back to the residence and when she got to the door, her girlfriend grabbed her by the arm, snatched her inside and shut the door. Officers said they could hear the two fighting on the other side and could hear somebody being slammed against the door.
An officer had to break down the door to get inside. The woman who had done the grabbing was arrested on a domestic violence charge. The other woman refused to answer questions about the incident.
Police took the woman to the department for processing. While she was in the jail cell, she began punching the sink and wall, causing her hand to bleed. She was treated for her wounds and taken to the county jail.
Her plea date is June 25.
