MIAMI — Authorities have arrested a 31-year-old man they say posed as a cop and pulled over a vehicle.
Miami police said one of their officers saw a 2012 Scion with flashing red and blue lights pull over a driver Saturday. The officer stopped to offer back-up support, but police said the officer was surprised when he realized the man conducting the traffic stop was a police impersonator.
According to an incident report, Ruben Yepes-Quiroz also had two fake badges in his pocket.
Yepes-Quiroz was arrested and charged with one count of falsely personating an officer and one count of prohibited use of certain lights.
The investigation continues.
