FORT WALTON BEACH – A man who allowed police officers to search his car had “several items” of drugs and paraphernalia, Fort Walton Beach Police say.
On May 28 officers were asked to check out a report of a suspicious car at the Pit Stop gas station on Hollywood Boulevard. While en route, they spotted a car matching the description at the Dodges Store on Hollywood. As they approached the car, it left the station. The driver stopped after a short distance and got out.
A check of the driver’s license revealed it had been suspended. The driver was identified as 36-year-old Paul Michael Raslevich of Fort Walton Beach.
Officers asked if he had anything in the car that would get him in trouble; he said he didn’t, so they asked if they could search the car. He gave them permission.
Inside, they found several new and used syringes, a burned metal spoon, and a Jolly Rancher box containing several pills and a rock of cocaine.
Raslevich was charged with possession of hydromorphone, possession of cocaine, driving with a suspended license and possession of drug paraphernalia.
His court date is July 9.
