SHALIMAR — A personal watercraft carrying a father and son was pushed by a wave into one of the pilings for the Shalimar Bridge on Friday morning, according to rescue workers.
The accident happened about 9:30 a.m.
Both were thrown from the watercraft and suffered what appeared to be minor injuries, according to Ocean City-Wright Fire Control Battalion Chief Robert Hall.
The two were wearing flotation devices at the time of the accident. Other watercraft in the area circled them until they could be pulled from the water.
They were taken by ambulance to Fort Walton Beach Medical Center, Hall said.
Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission is investigating the accident.
