MILTON — A 67-year-old man was seriously injured when he wrecked his sport utility vehicle on State Road 89 late Monday afternoon.
Robert Rowley of Salem, Ala., was driving a Ford Explorer west on SR 89 approaching the intersection with Howard Lane shortly after 4 p.m., according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
He drifted across the eastbound lanes and off the road, crashing into a utility pole. The vehicle flipped onto its left side.
Rowley suffered serious injuries and was taken to Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola for treatment, according to the FHP. He was wearing his seatbelt during the crash.
