NICEVILLE – Police are looking into the following incidents that occurred in Niceville earlier this month:
On April 19, somebody walked into the Tom Thumb on Palm Boulevard, snatched four packs of cigarettes from the counter and took off. The thief was described as a white male wearing a black jacket, white shirt and square-style black glasses. He was driving a silver vehicle. Niceville Police are awaiting video footage of the incident.
Also on April 19, a man told police somebody stole tools from the back of his truck while he was at Walmart. Per the incident report, video footage from the store hadn’t been looked at.
On April 21 somebody tried to torch a car on Dana Pointe Drive with a Molotov cocktail. A man found a broken bottle with a cloth sticking out of it beside his car. The cloth appeared to have been burned. Police gathered pieces of the bottle and cloth, and sent them to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement for analysis.
On April 22 police got a call from a man on Redman Court who said somebody had broken into his house and took medication and rare currency. He said he came home from work and found his prescription medication missing from his dresser. He also noticed his wife’s collection of rare currency – valued at around $1,000 – was gone. There were no signs of forced entry but the man admitted to leaving the back door unlocked.
