FORT WALTON BEACH — Eglin Parkway from U.S. Highway 98 to Yacht Club Drive will be closed this morning for the Parade of Heroes.

Fort Walton Beach Police Chief Ted Litschauer said Eglin will be closed at 10:30 a.m. He said it should reopen about 12:30 p.m.
The parade to honor veterans and active-duty military members starts at 11 a.m. It will follow Eglin from First Street north to Hughes Street.
The three Doolittle Raiders in town for the 71st anniversary reunion of their attack on Japan in World War II will be the grand marshals. Veterans and active-duty personnel also will participate.
There will be no tossing of beads, candy or trinkets. Instead, Beach Community Bank will provide American flags for spectators.
A crawfish boil will be held at Uptown Station following the parade.
