FORT WALTON BEACH – A man was arrested after he punched his roommate in the head, then took out his frustrations on their rented house with a sword, lawmen say.
Fort Walton Beach Police were called to a Holmes Boulevard residence April 4 to quell a disturbance. There, they talked to a man and woman who said the man’s roommate punched him in the head.
It began earlier when their landlord showed up after police had been called to the residence that morning (the report didn’t say why). She demanded they pay their rent or get out. She told police they were drunk and arguing with each other.
Later, the two became embroiled in a physical battle. The woman said the suspect pushed the other man into a recliner and began beating him. Then, the suspect apparently lost control and attacked the walls of the house with a sword.
He was charged with battery. His court date is April 23.
