DEFUNIAK SPRINGS - Officers recovered a stolen 2008 Buick LeSabre on Wednesday and arrested the alleged thief, according to a news release from the Police Department.
Police found the Buick, which had been reported stolen in Walton County days earlier, parked at a home, police reported. Officer watched the Buick until Jerome Cochran II, 24, of Fort Davis, Ala., left the home, got in the car and drove away.
Cochran ran off after officers stopped the car, but was caught after a four-block chase, according to police. Crack cocaine and marijuana was found on him.
Cochran has been charged with grand theft, resisting law enforcement without violence, possession of crack cocaine and possession of marijuana.
He is being held at Walton County Jail on no bond.
