Eligible Walton County can enter a lottery to win a beach driving permit beginning Monday.
The submission deadline is at the close of business May 10. The county issues 150 permits a year.
To be eligible, the following documents must be submitted in the name of the applicant at the time of application: proof of full-time residency (driver license with a county address or county voter registration); copy of driver license; copy of voter registration (if not a property owner); proof of real property ownership (if property owner); proof that property taxes are current; current four-wheel drive vehicle registration (registered in Florida); and completed application.
Lottery applications will be available on the county’s website at 12:01 a.m. Monday or at the county Department of Administration office or the Planning Department at the South Walton Annex.
Completed applications may be submitted to those offices or online by completing the web form and attaching required documents.
