FREEPORT - Crews from Anderson Columbia will close a section of Short Avenue in Walton County on Monday for drainage work, the state Department of Transportation has announced.
Detour signs will be posted to direct motorists to Bay Grove Road and State Street.
The job is expected to take two weeks, weather permitting.
The work is part of a project to widen 4.6 miles of U.S. Highway 331 from the north end of the Choctawhatchee Bay relief bridge to south of State Road 20.
Work began in the fall of 2012 and is expected to be completed by the summer of 2015.
