Report: Man takes woman's car, says he's in Philly

FORT WALTON BEACH – A man who took a woman’s car without her permission told her he was in Philadelphia and would return the car a few days later. When he didn’t, the woman called Fort Walton Beach Police.

The woman told officers the man, Bradley Neil Beck, 30, of Fort Walton Beach, took the car on Feb. 6 after stealing the keys from her purse as she slept.

She called Beck. He told her he was in Philadelphia, but would return the car Feb. 8. When he didn’t return the car on Feb. 8 she tried calling him again, but his phone out of service.

Friends reported seeing Beck in her car around Fort Walton Beach.

Beck is charged with failure to appear on a previous charge (four counts), grand theft auto, failure to appear on the grand theft charge, and larceny.

His court date is March 26.
