MILTON — A man has been arrested after a child swallowed Drano in a home on Pineywood Place on Feb. 20, according to the Santa Rosa County Sheriff's Office.
The child, whose age was no released, still was in critical condition Tuesday.
Several people were making methamphetamine in the home, according to a Sheriff’s Office news release. Drano, an ingredient used to make the drug, was being stored in a children’s sippy cup in the bathroom.
The child went into the bathroom unsupervised and drank the Drano, the release said.
Jonathan Wayne Glass told deputies he was going to use the Drano to unclog the bathroom sink, the Sheriff’s Office reported.
A warrant was issued for child abuse and Glass was arrested Friday. A second warrant was served for drug charges.
Glass faces one count of cruelty towards a child, abuse causing great bodily harm, disability; three counts of possession of a harmful new legend drug without a prescription; four counts of drug possession without a prescription; one count of opium or derivative, trafficking 4 grams to under 30 kilograms, and one count of possession or use of drug equipment, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
He was in the Santa Rosa County Jail on Tuesday with no bond.
The child’s mother, Victoria Lauren Cain was arrested Friday and charged with child neglect, the news release said. She was arrested and will face additional drug charges, according to Deputy Rich Aloy, Sheriff's public information officer.
John Q. Adams was arrested Tuesday and charged with drug possession and drug production. He was taken to the jail on $500,000 bond.
Debbie A. Harris, Ronnie E. Olson, and Justin E. Godwin were arrested on narcotics charges, Aloy said.
