CRESTVIEW - A driver escaped unhurt from his semi-trailer Wednesday morning after it caught fire at a rest stop on Interstate 10 east of Crestview, according to the Dorcas Fire District.
The driver awoke to the smell of smoke and climbed out of the cab, firefighters reported. The truck, which was carrying building materials, was destroyed.
Firefighters from Crestview and North Okaloosa assisted at the scene.
