Man accused of putting pink hat in his pants

FORT WALTON BEACH - A man entered a convenience store and tried to shoplift two pink hats and a pair of red sunglasses, according to an Okaloosa County Sheriff's Office arrest report.

On Dec. 14 a man and woman entered the Tom Thumb on James Lee Road and went to the back of the store. The woman took two pink hats, put one on her head and tired to stuff other one down a sock on her right leg, the report said. When it wouldn't fit, she gave it to the man, who put it in the front of his pants. He also took a pair of red sunglasses and stuffed them into his pants.

The two purchased cigarettes and started to walk out of the store when they were stopped by an employee and a lawman.

The man admitted to hiding the items and trying to leave without paying for them. The arrest report did not indicate if the woman had been arrested.

The man was charged with petit larceny.
