DESTIN — A 24-year-old man faces multiple charges after allegedly stealing a bread truck New Year's Day.
Matthew Ryan Lambert of Niceville has been charged with resisting arrest, grand theft auto, driving with a suspended license, marijuana possession and narcotic equipment possession.
Lambert took a Flowers Baking Company truck from the Fills Up Food Store on Emerald Coast Parkway around 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, according to the Okaloosa County Sheriff's report.
He was spotted driving north on State Road 293 and when a deputy tried to pull him over Lambert refused to stop. He ran a red light at State Road 20, turned into the Whataburger parking lot and crashed into a drainage ditch there, the report said.
The bread truck sustained around $8,000 in damages.
Lambert is scheduled to appear in court Feb. 26.
