Parents with young children living in Santa Rosa County are invited to learn more about the Head Start programs available in their area.
Recruitment meetings at various locations will begin Feb. 5 and continue through the end of the month, according to the Santa Rosa County School District.
Head Start is a program offered for low-income families that provides health, nutrition, social and educational services.
Parents of children who will be 4 years old on or before Sept. 1 can apply.
Jackson Pre-K School also will offer early Head Start for children who are 2 years old before or on Sept. 1.
To apply, parents or guardians will need the child’s birth certificate, proof of income for all family members (pay stubs from the preceding month, Social Security child support, unemployment, etc.) and proof of residence such as a utility bill or lease agreement.
Registration will be from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The first session will be Feb. 5 at Jay Elementary and be followed Feb. 10-13 at T.R. Jackson Pre-K, Feb. 14 at Central School, Feb. 18 at Bagdad Elementary, Feb. 19 at Berryhill Elementary, Feb. 21 at East Milton Elementary and Feb. 27 at West Navarre Intermediate School.
