FORT WALTON BEACH – A local man didn’t want to do anything an Okaloosa County Sheriff’s deputy told him to do. He did, however, want to kick that deputy.
That’s according to an arrest report.
Things started to go south when a deputy was called to Attitudes, a nightspot on James Lee Road in Fort Walton Beach. Seems a Fort Walton Beach man had partied his way to a $74.40 bar tab and wasn’t paying.
The deputy found him inside with no shirt on. The deputy told him to come along, but the man refused. The deputy asked the man to come outside, but the man refused. The deputy used something called an “arm bar” to take him outside, and ordered him to get on the floor. The man refused. The deputy told him a second time to get on the ground. The man refused. So, the deputy used the “arm bar technique” to get the man on the floor.
Later, the deputy placed the man in the back of his patrol car. The man complained his handcuffs were too tight, so the deputy tried to loosen them.
That’s when the man started kicking at his legs, the deputy reported.
The man was charged with resisting arrest without violence. He will appear before a judge on Jan. 21.
