Man and woman argue; man arrested on entirely unrelated charge

NICEVILLE – A man and woman were arguing in a hotel room. Somebody called Niceville Police. That led to the man being arrested, but on an entirely unrelated charge.

The incident occurred at the Quality Inn on State Road 85. A 26-year-old man (no address listed) argued with a woman and officers were called to quell the disturbance.

While they were there, the woman asked officers to retrieve her cell phone from their truck. As officers searched the truck, they found a plastic zipper bag containing a green leafy substance that later tested positive for marijuana. The man admitted the marijuana was his.

He was arrested and charged with marijuana possession – not more than 20 grams. His plea date was not immediately available.
