CRESTVIEW - Authorities are looking for the family of a man involved in a traffic crash on eastbound Interstate 10 on Thursday afternoon, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
A 2007 Chevrolet Suburban driven by 86-year-old James Scott of New Orleans ran out of gas about 12:40 p.m. four miles east of the State Road 85 exit, the FHP reported. Scott was could not get the Suburban out of the outside lane, and it was hit from behind by a 2000 Dodge Ram 2500 driven by 70-year-old Jimmie P. Neal of Navarre.
Scott was not injured but was taken to North Okaloosa Medical Center. He suffers from a mental disorder and his family may not know where he is, according to the FHP.
Officials have been unable to find his next of kin. Anyone with information is asked to call the FHP at 1-800-459-6861.
Neal and his passenger, 69-year-old Sandra Neal of Navarre, were not hurt. Jimmie Neal was cited for not having proof of insurance.
