Author Michael Byars Lewis of Navarre was recognized last month with a bronze medal in The Readers’ Favorite Book Award for his book “Surly Bonds.”
The award was the second honor the book has received. Lewis was named a silver medal finalist in the 2012 Next Generation Indi Book Awards in New York.
Readers’ Favorite is a fast growing online book review and award contest.
“Surly Bonds” is a military thriller revolving around Jason Conrad, a struggling young Air Force second lieutenant, and his high profile father.
“All Jason Conrad wants to do is fly jets, but his secret is too big to keep hidden, and his struggles in pilot training soon become overshadowed by gambling, scandal and murder,” according to news release.
Lewis is an airman stationed at Hurlburt Air Force Base.
