DESTIN — A Mary Esther resident is in critical condition after being struck Thursday evening by a vehicle.
Alondra Hogans, 20, is believed to have been bent over picking something up off of Danny Wuerffel Way when a pickup truck approached, according to a news release from the Florida Highway Patrol.
The truck’s driver, Micheal S. Boone, 27, of Crestview, swerved to avoid Hogans, but struck Hogans with the left front side of his vehicle just before 7 p.m., the release stated.
Hogans was taken to Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola for treatment and Boone was not injured.
The crash remains under investigation.
