FLOROSA — A 30-year-old man was charged with driving under the influence of drugs after he drove his car through Kid’s Discovery on U.S. Highway 98 early Tuesday.
Ryan K. Peralta was driving a 2008 Toyota pickup truck eastbound on Hwy. 98 when he left the roadway in a southeasterly direction and hit the child daycare center around 12:50 a.m., according to the Florida Highway Patrol press release.
The truck traveled completely inside the building, causing $20,000 in damages, before coming to a complete stop.
Peralta and his two passengers, 25-year-old Ryne L. Parker of Navarre and 25-year-old Edward J. Thompson of Navarre, were not injured in the wreck.
In addition to facing drug charges, Peralta also was charged with violation of driver restriction, careless driving and marijuana possession.
